Caity Barrett

Registered Physiotherapist, Special Interest and Training in Pediatrics and Pelvic Health

Caity is a community, family and health minded physiotherapist, with a passion for helping individuals return to or discover new activities they love. Whether she is helping a client with pelvic organ prolapse return to hiking, guiding a pregnant client through birth preparation, or encouraging a child to explore their environment in a new way, Caity will provide compassionate and accessible support.

Caity completed her Master of Physical Therapy and Bachelor of Science degrees at UBC in Vancouver and the Okanagan. She has post graduate training in pediatrics, pregnancy, pelvic health and lactation, and continues to pursue coursework and research in these areas.

Before becoming a physio, Caity worked with children in various capacities coaching, mentoring, and tutoring. It was natural to start her physiotherapy career in pediatrics. She loves working with children, creatively hiding therapeutic exercises in play based activities. During her own matrescence she also discovered the importance of comprehensive birth preparation, and perinatal support. She became passionate about empowering pregnant people to take control of and better understand their choices and their bodies in pregnancy, birth and postpartum.

Exercise prescription, mindfulness, education, neurodevelopmental treatment and manual therapy techniques are all part of Caity’s physiotherapy approach. Caity strives to build trusting and therapeutic relationships with her clients while helping them achieve their health and wellness goals. She is happy to collaborate with other professionals to best serve her clients.

In the community, Caity can be found enjoying nature with her hubby, three children and pup. You might see her on the trails biking, hiking or skiing!
